Duties * You will cut piping systems for installation. * You will cut and thread pipes for installation. * You will troubleshoot high-pressure piping systems and determines need for modification and/or repair to insure proper and safe operation. * You will demonstrate technical practices in order to determine need for modification and repairs. * You will perform standard welding operations involving commonly used metals to meet weld dimensions, tolerances, strength, and other requirements. * You will utilize safety practices and procedures by following established safety rules and regulations to maintain a safe and clean work environment. * You will demonstrate the use of plumbing tools and equipment to make installations/repairs. * You will interpret blueprints, charts and sketches to install or modification equipment. Qualifications You must show the ability to do the work of a PIPEFITTER without more than normal supervision performing:1) Troubleshoot and test piping systems and equipment for proper circulation, flow, pressure and leak free joints; 2) Plan and layout installation, modification, and repair of various new and existing piping systems and equipment including various kinds of piping, risers, and flexible branches at the proper level and incline; 3) Operate various hand and power tools and devices (e.g., hand and power pipe threaders and cutters, flanges, pipe wrenches, grinders, templates, sliding squares, measuring tapes, chalk lines, plumb bobs, etc.).
