As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll shape the future of Jackpocket, one of the newest products in our portfolio.  In this role, you'll dive into the dynamic lottery vertical, driving product innovation and navigating the unique scaling challenges that come with it.  You’ll work cross-functionally to drive innovation and deliver new functionalities rapidly.  Working within the Jackpocket vertical offers the thrilling opportunity to contribute to a game-changing product in a rapidly growing industry, where your work directly impacts the future of digital lottery experiences.

What you’ll do as a Senior Software Engineer

  • Own the development, maintenance, testing strategy, and operations of API services written primarily in Elixir, hosted in GCP.

  • Collaborate with business leads to define milestones and deliveries in very short time frames for new functionality to be added to existing systems.

  • Build and maintain the application software throughout the product life cycle.

  • Take part in design sessions and ensure your team delivers high-quality work that aligns with our engineering strategy.

  • Support local lottery fulfillment operations to ensure live systems are performing correctly.

What you’ll bring   

  • At least 3 years of experience as a Software Engineer working with highly scalable systems, including expertise in Elixir, Erlang, and functional programming.

  • Strong hands-on experience with cloud-native technologies such as Kubernetes, containerized microservices, data grids, and auto-scaling.

  • Proficiency in event-driven architectures, particularly with RabbitMQ or Kafka, and skilled in using Liveview, OTP, and SQL databases like PostgreSQL.

  • Expertise in multi-threading, concurrency, and designing resilient systems, along with the ability to develop automated test suites across all levels of the architecture.

  • Excellent troubleshooting skills with a focus on real-time problem-solving and enhancing the customer experience.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is 116,000.00 USD - 145,000.00 USD, plus bonus, equity, and benefits as applicable. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.
