So, what will you be doing?
The Plant Inventory Specialist will manage equipment parts
inventory at the Demopolis, AL facility warehouse, and satellite warehouses off
site and work within the parts requisition process and inventory management
system in the ERP
Who you are?
Key Accountabilities:
- Prepare bid awards requiring senior management approval.
- Maintain records of goods ordered and received at the Critical Spares Warehouse in Demopolis, AL
- Review purchase requirements from manufacturing plants and place necessary purchase orders with vendors
- Ensure correct setup of inventory items in ERP system and maintain up to date purchase prices. Implement minimum inventory on-hand and automatic reorder points.
- Review on-hand inventory and variances from physical inventory counts
- Optimize the procurement of spares and general plant supplies, exploiting economies of sales and driving down unit pricing.
- Locate vendors of materials, equipment or supplies, and interview them in order to determine product availability and terms of sales.
- Assist with Developing and implementing purchasing and contract management instructions, policies, and procedures.
- Prepare reports regarding inventory levels, inventory ageing, procurement performance against budgets for management review.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience required:
- Bachelor's degree is preferred or equivalent experience.
- 3-7 years of experience in the field or a related area.
- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacturing and distribution of goods
