AmeriGas Propane, the nation’s largest propane distributor, has immediate openings for safety-minded, customer-focused Delivery Representatives in Carbondale, CO. The Delivery Representative will be responsible for delivering propane and filling tanks for residential, commercial and industrial customers. The Delivery Driver will provide the highest standards of safety and customer service.

Compensation

  • Hourly rate: $30.00-$30.75
  • Average of 40-50 hours weekly
  • Overtime pay after 40 hours worked at time and a half
  • $10,000 sign-on bonus – $5,000 paid after 90 days and $5,000 paid after 1 year
  • $2,500 employee referral program
  • Additional compensation includes eligibility to earn a performance-based bonus or commissions on completed sales

Home Time, Route, & Schedule

  • Home Time: Home every night!
  • Shift:  Day shift schedule; start times vary by location; shifts will be 8 to 12 hours depending on fluctuating needs
  • Scheduling requirements year round:
    • Committing to a paid rotating on-call schedule to respond to emergencies after hours
    • Note: when on-call at this location vehicle can be taken home
  • Scheduling requirements during peak season
    • Working 6-day work weeks with 10-hour shifts and paid overtime
    • Working weekends and holidays
  • Level of Touch: Load, secure, transport, deliver, and unload propane to specified destinations

Equipment 

  • Fleet consists of a variety of vehicles, including medium-and heavy-duty power units with bulk, flatbed, box and curtain trailers.

Responsibilities 

As a local Delivery Representative, you will play a vital role in delivering propane to our customers while ensuring the highest standards of safety and customer service. Duties include, but are not limited to:  

  • Safely operate a propane delivery truck along provided delivery routes   
  • Filling residential and/or commercial bulk tanks with propane  
  • Delivering propane cylinders to commercial/industrial customers
  • Perform all daily functions in a safe manner by adhering to all federal and state codes and regulations in addition to all AmeriGas Safety and Operations Policies and Procedures
  • Consistent use of required Personal Protective Equipment

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years of age  
  • Must have a valid CDL A or B license 
  • Hazmat and Tanker Endorsements required
  • Must have a minimum of 6 months CDL driving experience with a clean driving record
  • Propane industry experience is a plus
  • Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Ability to load/unload 50-pound cylinders (up to 200/day) and pull 75-pound hoses that are 150 feet or more
  • Satisfactory completion of a DOT physical, drug test and background check
  • Hiring Radius: Drivers must live within 45 miles of Carbondale, CO  with no more than a 60-minute commute or be willing to relocate for this position

The pay for this position ranges from $30.00-$30.75, depending on circumstances including an applicant’s skills and qualifications, certain degrees and certifications, prior job experience, market data, and other relevant factors. Additional compensation includes eligibility to earn a performance-based bonus or commissions on completed sales.
