Position Overview

Registrar directs all facets of the operations of the Registrar's Office including student registration and records, course schedules, graduation clearance, transcript review and other related matters. The Registrar provides strategic oversight to plan, organize and manage all activities related to student records compilation and maintenance in compliance with federal regulations, state law and accrediting agencies requirements. The Registrar oversees registration activities in accordance with University academic protocol, prerequisites and internal reporting needs. This role is also responsible for transcript audits for all graduation candidates. As a member of the Student Affairs team, the Registrar works with various departments in implementing academic policy to ensure that all processes relating to the matriculation and graduation of all undergraduate and graduate students are administratively sound and operationally efficient. All functions are accomplished in accordance with institutional academic policies and practices as well as with rules of other external regulatory or accrediting agencies.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee administrative and operational activities associated with the collection, maintenance, and dissemination of students' academic records.

• Develop course schedules and academic calendar, including long-range planning thereof, in consultation with appropriate administrators, Department Chair, and staff.

• Coordinate the dissemination of information on courses offered and procedures students are required to follow in order to register, to obtain transcripts, and to apply for graduation.

• Oversee processes for student graduation.

• Partner effectively with the admissions team to facilitate registration of all new and transfer students, as well as international students.

• Manage the evaluation of transfer-related transcripts and other credentials.

• Oversee University and course registration process.

• Oversee the development and maintenance of accurate degree audit systems and certification of students for graduation/graduation clearance.

• Serve as a member of standing committees of the University

• Prepare internal and external reports, surveys, and studies, including data analysis to support

• University planning and retention and other institutional research.

• Serve as contact and administrator for the student information system.

• Manage the finalization and posting of grades.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Key skills, experiences and qualifications required

• At least 3 year experience as a registrar assistant registrar, academic records or related field.

• At least 3 years of experience in higher education.

• Demonstrated customer service abilities in a professional environment.

• Strong interpersonal skills to interact with students, leadership, and peers.

• Demonstrated track record of organizational/team/individual development.

• Strong organizational, planning and coordination skills.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; student information system experience preferred

• Self-motivated, flexible, goal-oriented, and enjoy working in a fast pace environment.

• Ability to set ones’ own priorities, work effectively under pressure, and meet frequently occurring deadlines with minimum supervision.

• Possess a spirit of enthusiasm, energy, and multi-cultural awareness.

• Must have strong command of the English language, in both oral and written form

• Ability to work flexible hours and some evenings
