Advanced knife skills, ability to follow recipes, comfortable operating kitchen equipment, understands batch cooking, good time management skills, good communication skills. This role may require transporting and setting up food in meeting space.
Oversee kitchen operations and ensure food quality during assigned shift
Assign tasks and support team coordination in food prep and service
Maintain food presentation, portion control, and plating standards
Assist with inventory tracking, waste logs, and restocking
Train and mentor junior kitchen staff as needed
Ensure all food safety and sanitation guidelines are strictly followed
Collaborate with supervisors or chefs on menu execution and special requests
Skills:
- Advanced cooking techniques and ability to work multiple stations
- Proven leadership skills in a kitchen or foodservice setting
- Strong sense of urgency, time management, and attention to detail
- Able to give clear instructions and maintain positive team morale
- Physically able to stand for long hours and lift up to 50 lbs
Requirements:
- Must maintain a clean and professional appearance per kitchen policy
- Non-slip shoes and full uniform (including hat or hairnet) required
- Expected to model and enforce all safety and hygiene standards
- Must be comfortable taking responsibility for shift success
