Job description
I. Summary
EMR USA has an opening for an end of life vehicle (ELV) technician. In this role, the ELV employee will assist with intake of cars to be recycled, break down cars to various components and prepare them for the next step in the process. To be successful, the ELV employee must be organized and able to perform several tasks at the same time. Ultimately, an outstanding ELV employee has good customer service skills, is a team player and possesses a strong work ethic.
II. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Using a forklift to handle inventory
- Entering and tracking inventory data on an iPad
- Implementing and documenting all facets of inventory control
- Assisting with all facets of the dismantling or disassembly of automobiles that have reached the end of their life cycle
- Removing tires, batteries and converters from automobiles purchased as scrap
- Draining fluids from ELV vehicles
- Operate loader to move vehicles in the yard
III. Required Skills / Abilities
- Proficient computer or tablet user
- Mechanical experience in dealing with automobiles
IV. Education & Experience
- Must possess a valid driver's license
- Forklift operator experience is required
V. Other Job Demands
While performing the essential functions of this job, the Load inspector will be working in an outdoor environment. The employee may be near moving mechanical parts and will be exposed to all weather conditions. The noise level in the environment can be loud and will require ear protection. The employee is required to sit, stand, and walk for long periods of time. This job also requires frequent bending, kneeling, and standing, lifting up to 50 lbs., and working in confined spaces.
