I. Summary
The Landscaping Specialist is responsible for providing landscaping services and basic maintenance duties as needed to the corporate office and surrounding facilities. Duties include operating a small front-end loader to move soil, gravel, or mulch, assist in planning and executing landscaping projects, and assessing soil conditions to determine appropriate treatment to ensure optimal growth. This career requires previous experience in landscaping, gardening, or other related field, the ability to operate a small front-end loader, and the understanding of irrigation systems and basic plumbing related to yard maintenance.
II. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Performs a variety of landscaping and yard maintenance tasks, including planting, weeding, mulching, pruning, and lawn care.
- Assesses soil conditions and determines the appropriate treatment or plant types to ensure optimal growth.
- Safely operates and maintains a small front-end loader for tasks such as moving soil, gravel, mulch, and other materials.
- Installs and maintains irrigation systems to ensure proper watering of plants and lawns.
- Identifies and treats plants diseases and pests to maintain plant health and appearance.
- Assists in planning and executing landscaping projects, ensuring client satisfaction and project timelines are met.
III. Required Skills / Abilities
- Understanding of irrigation systems and basic plumbing related to yard maintenance.
- Knowledge of local plants, flowers, and soil types.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
IV. Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED-equivalent preferred.
- Proven experience in landscaping, gardening, or a related field.
- Experience operating a small front-end loader and other landscaping equipment.
- Experience installing and maintaining fences, including Gabion fences up to 12’.
- Certification or training in horticulture, landscaping, or a related field is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
