In this role the successful candidate will support Entegris business unit growth with an emphasis on thermal analysis, materials compatibility, calorimetry, and related hazard analysis.  The position involves working in a chemistry research lab environment collecting sample data and implementing advanced thermal analysis techniques to support small molecule R&D development.  The role also involves characterization of materials via various thermal analysis methods to guide safety efforts.  What You’ll Do: Collect and analyze sample characterization data using various thermal analysis methods. Provide analysis and feedback to relevant stake holders with respect to material performance or material safety. Seek out, implement, and develop advanced thermal analysis and process safety methodology. Contribute to and maintain safety documentation in the appropriate systems and always promote safe work practices. Contribute to intellectual property development as needed. Strong organization skills, attention to detail, flexibility, and ability to prioritize multiple tasks are critical for success. The ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment and communicate effectively with group members is essential. What We Seek: A technical background with an emphasis on thermal analysis, process safety, and small molecules. A M.Sc. with 3-5 years experience or Ph.D. with 1-3 years experience. Demonstrated hands-on experience with characterization of molecules by thermal analysis methods such as TGA and DSC. Expertise with state-of-the-art TGA, STA, SDT, DSC, thermal and pressure hazard screening, and calorimetry and ability to troubleshoot and maintain equipment. Outstanding Candidates Will Have: Experience with calorimetry including familiarity with ARC testing. A working knowledge of vapor pressure determination and equipment used to determine vapor pressure. Ability to employ software packages to carry out theoretical thermochemical calculations to guide experiments. Experience working with air-sensitive materials. What We Offer: At Entegris, we invest in providing opportunity to our employees and promote from within.
