Job Summary: Provide mechanical and electrical repairs and testing onboard ships and in the shop. Work includes removal, maintenance, repair, overhaul, assembly, installation, alignment, troubleshooting, modifying, and testing of ships' elevator and conveyor mechanical and electrical systems and components including vertical package conveyors, dumbwaiters, cargo and weapons elevators, and medical personnel evacuation emergency platforms. Duties and Responsibilities: * Completes functional checks, tests and analysis, fault detection in order to formulate required corrective actions.
* Provides assessments and/or certification inspections which on Elevator and Conveyor, systems primarily onboard PACFLT Ships, including but not limited to CG, DDG, LHA, LHD, LPD, LSD, MCMs, LCS and MSC class ships.
* Conducts technical research utilizing drawings, technical manuals, design specifications, and engineering technical guidance as required in order to completes functional checks, tests, analysis, and fault detection in order to formulate required corrective actions.
* Utilizes standard mechanic's tools, torque wrenches, micrometers, dial
* indicators and other precision measuring instruments, fixtures, portable machine tools, and various gauges to effect maintenance, repair, overhaul, assembly, installation, alignment, and testing of shipboard elevator and conveyor equipment, components, and subassemblies.
* Assists ships force with obtaining supply and repair parts information as required.
* Performs necessary out briefs to ship's force representatives including ship's officers, supporting personnel and customer management.
* Analyzes technical data to determine applicability to design problems.
* Plans or assists in planning tests to evaluate equipment performance.
* Determines test requirements, equipment modification, and test procedures.
* Prepare reports on findings and provide recommendations.
* Conducts tasking in a logical and safe manner. Required Qualifications: * High school diploma or equivalent
* Minimum 4 years of work-related experience performing condition assessments, diagnostic inspections, fault isolation and repairs on the following systems: Elevator/Conveyor mechanical systems on US Navy and Coast Guard ships
* Sound interpersonal skills needed to interface, coordinate with company personnel, customers, and outside contacts
* Must pass PQS 301 Craftsmen qualifications
* Ability to read schematics and blue prints
* Ability to read technical manuals and repair standards
* Ability to read, interpret, and follow detailed written instructions, MRC cards or drawings
* Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret Clearance Pay Range: The pay range for this role is $26.07 To $47.79 Hourly. This is a reasonable estimate for this role. Individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
