POSITION OVERVIEW

The Network Systems Administrator is a member of the IT Team within the Administration Unit and is responsible for setting up, configuring, and supporting internal and or external networks, developing and maintaining servers, storage, and network configurations, troubleshooting network performance issues.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with team members to support office staff, both on-premises and remotely.
  • Maintain, upgrade, and troubleshoot server infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments.
  • Manage the installation and maintenance of server hardware, applications, and configurations.
  • Administer on-premises Active Directory and Azure AD, including GPO management.
  • Ensure network connectivity and uptime for smooth office operations.
  • Perform security compliance checks on endpoints, networks, and emails, adjusting security settings as needed.
  • Support end-user desktops and laptops, ensuring standardized operation.
  • Oversee network monitoring and security, including program installation and compliance.
  • Assist in monitoring and addressing network and system vulnerabilities.
  • Assist IT leadership with the management of key vendor relationships.
  • Ensure the highest level of uptime and functionality for all conference rooms and collaboration systems.
  • Standardize operating system images across the organization.
  • Streamline onboarding and software deployment for both local and remote staff.
  • Implement and enforce network policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and task management skills.
  • Create support documentation using Visio, SmartDraw, Lucid Charts, and Microsoft Office.
  • Share helpdesk support system management responsibilities.
  • Manage VMware, Windows, and Linux/Unix operating systems.
  • Undertake additional tasks as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
  • Active certifications in Microsoft, Cloud (Azure, AWS), and relevant networking (Network+, CCNA, HPE-Aruba, Juniper) are a plus
  • Six+ years in a network administration role with knowledge of configuring routers, switches, and firewalls
  • Minimum five years of experience with macOS, and three years with Linux OS systems
  • Minimum seven years managing Microsoft Operating Systems (Windows 7-11, Server 2008-2022)
  • Four or more years managing MS Azure Cloud and Office 365, including OneDrive and SharePoint
  • Five+ years managing VMware ESXi and vCenter Server environments
  • Minimum of three years working with database systems like MySQL and Microsoft SQL Server
  • Experience managing a medium-sized Amazon AWS environment for two or more years

SKILLS

  • Proven ability to organize effectively, collaborate with teams, and provide top-notch customer service
  • Proficiency in managing Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, RDS, and Group Policies for 7+ years
  • Experience with VoIP technologies and integrated conference rooms
  • Familiarity with disaster recovery, backup strategies, monitoring systems, and troubleshooting techniques
  • Professional, customer-service oriented mindset with an ability to exercise good judgment and diplomacy
  • Takes initiative and brings a high level of attention to detail to tasks
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities with a range of complexity

LOCATION

Daily activities are conducted in a typical office environment. EJW adheres to a hybrid work model whereby employees who live within a reasonable commuting area must be in person in-office two times per week.

  • Regular travel is expected to be negligible.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The salary range for the Network Systems Administrator position is $90,000 - $110,000, based on experience.
