The Associate Quantitative Analytics and Forecasting Director is responsible for managing and maintaining the short-term and long-term demand forecasting process for all Exelixis US commercialized products; all forecast-related analyses; and the weekly commercial business performance tracking and reporting process; and other analyses that leverage secondary data including product and launch performance, digital and other promotion effectiveness, and resource allocation. The Associate Quantitative Analytics and Forecasting Director is expected to have strong understanding of critical business issues including product performance and drivers, lead work processes with some guidance / supervision, and collaborate extensively with partner groups within and outside of the Commercial Organization. This role is a crucial strategic thought partner to key internal stakeholders throughout the organization. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Support / lead projects involving secondary data analytics and reporting including business performance tracking, competitive analysis, digital and other promotion effectiveness, resource allocation, segmentation, and targeting.Apply and guide usage of analytical techniques to diverse pharmaceutical data sources to address business needs and questions.Translate data and complex analytics into easily consumable and actionable business insights and recommendations, and effectively communicate findings to stakeholders.Support / lead the quarterly demand forecast process including forecast assumption updates, reporting, and forecast variance analyses.Support / lead continued development of the forecast tool and lead the implementation of forecast model enhancements and updates.Maintain and improve efficiency of the forecasting process by automating input / output process.Provide forecast-related analytics including assumption impact analyses, patient flow analyses, persistency analyses, and forecast variation analyses.Partner with internal groups (Market Planning, Finance, Supply Chain, Market Access, etc) to understand and integrate key business dynamics into forecast, partner with sales ops to develop and implement IC goals.Support the weekly business performance tracking and reporting process including weekly deep dives into performance metrics to uncover business insights, trends, and drivers.Weekly analysis of trade data to inform on performance and variance from forecast assumptions.Maintenance and continued development of the performance reporting tool and metrics.Partner with internal groups (Data Ops, Market Access, IT) to resolve and understand drivers behind trends and data anomalies.Build peer support and strong internal relationships with colleagues.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:No supervisory responsibilities; manage vendors as appropriateEDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: Education:·Bachelor’s degree in related discipline and a minimum of 7years of related experience; or,·Master’s degree in related discipline and a minimum of 5years of related experience; or,Equivalent combination of education and experience.Experience: ·Strong understanding of pharmaceutical data sources (specialty pharmacy, specialty distributor, claims, Xponent) is required Hands-on experience analyzing large pharmaceutical data sets using advanced statistical techniques is required·Experience in prior forecasting or data analytics in biotech / pharmaceutical industry is required ·Experience with patient flow modelling techniques is highly desirable·Experience with oncology and product launches is preferred·Prior consulting experience is preferred·Vendor management experience is a plus·Experience with Tableau is a plusKnowledge/Skills:Knowledge of different forecasting techniques (top-down forecast, trending etc.) and analytics related to biotech/pharma industryBroad understanding of, and hands-on experience analyzing pharmaceutical secondary data (specialty pharmacy, specialty distributor, Xponent)Ability to frame critical business questions, identify information needs to answer those questions, and determine where to best search for information sourcesEffective presentation and communication skills, both verbal and writtenExcellent organizational, project management and problem-solving skillsAbility to thrive in a fast-evolving environmentProficiency with Office products (Excel, PPT) and SQL is requiredWORKING CONDITIONS:·Environment: primarily working indoors, performing work or meeting with vendors·Travel for conferences / organizational meetings as needed – 15% travel #LI-CW1If you like wild growth and working with happy, enthusiastic over-achievers, you'll enjoy your career with us!Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several?U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The base pay range for this position?is $151,000 - $214,000 annually. The base pay range may take into account the candidate’s geographic region, which will adjust the pay depending on the specific work location.
