Senior Accountant
Pay Range: $35 - $45 / hour D.O.E.
Schedule: 9:00 am to 6:00 pm M-F
Location: Brea, CA work remotely on Fridays
Duties and Responsibilities
The Senior Accountant will work closely with our existing Senior Accountant and Staff Accountant. The ideal candidate will have 6-8 years of industry experience, monthly closing experience, payroll experience, ERP experience (NetSuite), and technical experience with Shopify and Avalara. They should be at an advanced level in Excel and hold a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance. This individual must be detail-oriented, able to handle challenges, and a team player.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise and review the work of Staff Accountant, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of their work.
- Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Manage and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support business decisions.
- Prepare and file tax returns, ensuring compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations, including GAAP and IFRS.
- Assist with the implementation and maintenance of accounting and ERP software systems and processes. Experience with NetSuite and Avalara is a strong plus.
- Communicate financial information to internal and external stakeholders, including management, auditors, and regulators.
- Provide guidance and support to other departments regarding accounting issues and financial procedures.
- Conduct periodic audits of financial statements and accounting practices to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.
- Participate in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.
- Monitor and manage cash flows, including forecasting and managing accounts payable and receivable.
- Conduct financial analyses and present findings to management for decision-making purposes.
- Stay up to date with accounting and financial regulations, trends, and practices.
Requirements, Skills, Experience & Education
- Possess in-depth knowledge and working experience with the closing process.
- Advanced Excel user level
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
- 6-8 years of industry experience
- Monthly closing experience
- Payroll experience
- ERP 3 years required experience (NetSuite) a strong plus
- Technical experience with Shopify and Avalara
- Ability to communicate in Mandarin Chinese a strong plus
