Join our team as a Senior Cartographer and support the Defense Intelligence Agency by creating maps, graphics, and layouts for Finished Intelligence (FINTEL) production. You will analyze cartographic data, evaluate map sources, and mentor junior cartographers to ensure high-quality deliverables. Responsibilities * Employ technology to create maps, graphics, illustrations, and layouts for FINTEL production * Analyze and assess cartographic data to identify the most suitable sources for FINTEL * Research, choose, and evaluate map source data for preparing or updating maps and charts at different scales * Offer mentorship and technical support to junior cartographers Qualifications * Must have a current Top Secret security clearance with a CI Polygraph * Master's degree in a field related to cartography from an accredited college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education; or a Bachelor's degree in a related field and an additional five years of senior-level experience, totaling 17 years, as an alternative to the Master's degree * At least 12 years of relevant experience in the specific labor category, with some experience acquired in the past two years * Proven expertise in professional cartography tools, including but not limited to ArcGIS Maps, Maya, ArcGIS CityEngine, ArcGIS Pro, ERDAS, RemoteView, ENVI, SOCET GXP, and ArcMap * Familiar with and capable of applying IC (Intelligence Community) and DoD (Department of Defense) classification standards and procedures * Experience working with DoD and IC imagery assets * Ability to provide cartographic guidance to junior team members * Skilled in logically evaluating and synthesizing information from multiple sources * Experienced in creating timely, coherent, and concise cartographic products * Proficient in communicating complex issues clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, with strong grammar skills * Capable of researching, acquiring, evaluating, organizing, and maintaining information within security and data protocols * Experienced in identifying subtle differences and resolving conflicting or inconsistent information * Working knowledge of advanced analytic methodologies, such as structured analytic techniques or alternative approaches, to assess biases, assumptions, and theories, reducing uncertainty and strengthening analytic arguments * Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere, and Flash), Apple Final Cut Pro X, Map Publisher, and other interactive graphics tools, languages, or enablers * Proven ability to identify problems, oversee studies, and lead surveys to gather and analyze data, providing recommendations and solutions * Extensive knowledge and practical experience with the intelligence production cycle, executive intelligence production, graphic design, web development, and data science technologies FedWriters is an Equal Opportunity Employer, including disability/vets.
