Develops and provides services related to the orientation, continuing education, and assessment of clinical staff. Serves as a resource for the Critical Care Director and staff.

Frye Regional Medical Center, located in the beautiful foothills of North Carolina is a 355-bed acute care hospital, 81-bed Behavioral Health facility and more than 70 primary and specialty care providers.
Essential Functions
- Collaborates with Director(s), physicians, and staff to assess the learning needs and competencies of staff.
- Designs, delivers, and assesses learning activities and curriculums related to clinical competencies, departmental/organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and the use of clinical information technologies.
- Serves as a consultant/mentor for staff in areas of program development, clinical practice, and professional development. Provides feedback to leaders on staff progress and development.
- Participates in the development, coordination, and delivery of new staff orientation and education activities.
- Will assist Nursing Director.
- Develops policies and procedures related to care of the critical care patient.
- Initiates and participates in activities to promote optimal patient outcomes and compliance to regulatory standards.
- Coordinates and provides continuing education on new procedures, equipment, medications and all areas of assessed need.
- Coaches staff by talking openly and directly about their performance, providing necessary feedback, guidance and direction and development opportunities.
- Develops and uses effective strategies and interpersonal styles to influence and guide others toward the accomplishment of identified objectives and goals.
- Responds to change with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn new ways to accomplish work activities and objectives.
- Acts to continuously improve the level of clinical and non-clinical outcomes and level of customer satisfaction in both individual and teamwork processes.
- Accomplishes tasks through working effectively with others and appreciating the value and commitment of every member.
- Serves on Shared Governance teams/committees and process improvement teams/committees.
- Functions as a role model at the bedside.
- Incorporates evidence-based strategies into clinical practice and educational offerings.
- Coordinates ongoing programs and promotes staff participation in Critical Care Journal clubs.

Minimum Education
Bachelor's degree required
Master's degree preferred
Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) required (instructor) required
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) (instructor preferred)
Licenses: Current RN license valid in NC
Minimum Work Experience
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Must have skills in caring for critical care patients with Coronary Artery Bypass Graft, TAVR, IABP, Impella, Swan-Ganz, Arterial lines, Vasoactive medications, and others as appropriate.
