Job Summary

Under the general guidance of the practice physician, the RN is primarily responsible for

maintaining standards of care and patient satisfaction, and for coordination and provision of

proficient care of the structural heart patient.

Frye Regional Medical Center, located in the beautiful foothills of North Carolina is a 355-bed acute care hospital, 81-bed Behavioral Health facility and more than 70 primary and specialty care providers.

 

Essential Functions

  • Obtain medical histories and identify structural heart disease/heart failure signs/symptoms; perform and record vital signs, electrocardiograms, frailty testing, and quality of life protocol.
  • Obtain social history
  • With guidance of APP confirm appropriate testing is ordered -Review laboratory and testing results, making note of abnormalities.
  • Work with patient/family and social work to develop/institute plans post procedure needs
  • Triage patient calls
  • Data collection- collection and assist with evaluation of structural heart clinic database
  • Conduct weekly structural heart team review meetings and pre procedure review meetings
  • Maintain communication with all members of the structural heart team

Minimum Education

  • Associate's degree required

Licenses/Certifications

Current Registered Nurse licensure

ACLS and CPR Certifications required

 

 Minimum Work Experience

A minimum of 5 years experience, with at least 3 of those in cardiology. Requires excellent clinical, critical analysis, excellent communication and organizational skills. Working knowledge of excel, PowerPoint and WORD. Must be able to function independently within the limits of the position. Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a team. Knowledge of standard of care treatment for interventional cardiology patients
