Overview
In the Strategic Initiatives Consultant role, the successful candidate will also be helping to build and grow our established Strategic Initiatives team. This team is comprised of dynamic problem solvers who partner with GB’s business leaders in scoping, designing and implementing lasting change to build a more dynamic and consistently excellent organization.
Projects will encompass all areas of GB’s North America business, however examples include:
- Efforts to ensure exceptional claimant and customer engagement and experience
- Delivery of end-to-end operational excellence throughout the claim lifecycle
- Pursuit and delivery of efficiencies across functions to reduce GB’s total cost to serve
- Establishment of operating controls/processes to minimize waste and reduce unintended revenue leakage
- Definition and clarification of operating model, with particular emphasis on roles/responsibilities/SLAs between functions to enhance speed and effectiveness of service delivery to the marketplace
How you'll make an impact
Strategic project delivery for GB North America
- Support the planning and execution of specific initiatives through in-depth analysis & documentation preparation
- Partner with project lead(s) to establish initiative responsibilities, timelines and expected value for assigned projects
- Assis in the implementation of initiative governance to ensure timely execution and value delivery
Scoping, success definition and approach
- Assist team members and project lead(s) in defining project scope to clearly understand business needs, areas for analysis / investigation and expected value of efforts
- Assist team members in defining approach / work plans and ensure resource commitments from the business to ensure initiative success and execution
Value delivery
- Develop and communicate analytical insights to assist with business challenges
- Support project lead in identifying and establishing pragmatic solutions to obstacles encountered throughout business
About You
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in business, finance or related field
- 2 years of relevant work experience in a business strategy or consulting role
- Strong Excel skills (performing data analysis, reporting, and synthesis.
- Strong PowerPoint skills (drafting and developing presentations that effectively communicate complex ideas, analyses, and recommendations).
Preferred:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to conduct research and synthesize information
- Time management skills
