Overview

Our Operations team is expanding and seeking a Project Manager - Merger Integrations to lead critical integration initiatives.  In this role, you will manage the GBS Operations and Client Services workstreams for merger partner integrations, ensuring a seamless transition and positive experience for all stakeholders. 

 

You will partner closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to: 

  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans 
  • Identify and escalate risks, while driving effective mitigation strategies 
  • Facilitate regular project meetings and provide clear, timely status updates 
  • Align integration plans with broader optimization initiatives 

 

This position reports to the Integration Program Leader.  Success in this role requires building strong relationships with divisional and functional leaders across Gallagher Benefit Services, including IT, HR, Finance, and other key areas.   

 

This is a hybrid role with flexible work encouraged, based out of Gallagher’s global headquarters in Rolling Meadows, IL, ideally 2-3 days per week.? 

 


How you'll make an impact

As a Project Manager for Merger Integrations, you play a pivotal role in ensuring that complex integration initiatives run smoothly and deliver measurable value. Your work will impact will be felth through: 

 

  • Scoping and planning projects: Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, RAIDD logs, and supporting documentation to ensure clarity and accountability. 
  • Building Cross-Functional Alignment: Collabroate with other GBS US integration workstreams to deliver a seamless experience for new merger partners and legacy GBS leadership across branch, regional, and divisional levels. 
  • Serving as a Trusted Point of Contact: Act as the primary liaison for leadership teams, merger partners, and integration managers – addressing questions, resolving issues, and providing timely support. 
  • Monitoring and Reporting Progress:  Track business optimization initiatives, hold regular status meetings, and produce performance reports that measure cost, quality, timeliness, and client satisfaction. 
  • Managing Risks and Driving Results: Proactively identify and escalate potential risks, develop mitigation strategies, and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.   

 


About You

Required: Bachelor's degree and 3 years business operations and/or project management experience required. Strong business acumen. Adept with technology including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Preferred: Insurance industry experience desirable.

You are a strategic thinking and a natural problem-solver who thrives in fast-paced, collaborative environments.  You bring a mix of business acumen, project management expertise, and a passion for delivering seamless integration experiences.   

 

Education & Experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree required 
  • 3+ years in business operations strategy or project management within mergers and acqusitions 
  • Experience in Employee Benefits brokerage or HR consulting industry preferred 

Strategic & Analytical Skills 

  • Ability to think strategically and solve complex business challenges, but are also attentive to the details 
  • Strong business judgment with the ability to identify intersections, assess risks, and recommend mitigation strategies 
  • Skilled in gathering, consolidating, and analyzing data to draw logical conclusions 

Leadership & Communication 

  • Proven ability to interact confidently with senior leadership and articulate integration strategies to diverse stakeholders 
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with limited guidance 
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills 

Technical Proficiency 

  • Advanced PowerPoint skills (creating presentations for senior audiences) 
  • Intermediate proficiency in Excel and Word 
  • Familiarity with project management tools and MS365 environment, including MS Teams and productivity tools 
  • Comfort leveraging AI-enabled tools for collaboration and efficiency
