The Benefit Specialist provides comprehensive Employee Benefits account management support under the direction of the Team Lead. The primary focus of this role is supporting assigned clients, with additional support provided to Employee Benefits Account Management, Sales, and Underwriting functions as needed.
How you'll make an impact
Draft and assemble client communications, benefit guidebooks, and related materials.
• Assist with client employee benefit surveys, industry surveys, and other benefits-related projects.
• Conduct peer reviews of client deliverables to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Respond to client inquiries regarding billing, eligibility, and benefit issues.
• Edit and prepare client PowerPoint presentations.
• Schedule and coordinate vendor presentations.
• Attend on-site open enrollment events and provide support as needed.
• Support marketing activities as directed by the Team Lead.
• Provide direct support for assigned client groups, including:
o Obtaining and saving carrier reporting
o Tracking financial reports
o Learning and utilizing client benefits administration systems
o Following established processes for open enrollment, data collection, and data sharing
• Maintain strong working relationships with carriers and external partners, including
understanding carrier product offerings and workflow processes.
• Ensure compliance with agency policies and procedures, including accurate entry of plan
information into the agency management system, HIPAA compliance, and proper file maintenance.
• Participate in special projects and team initiatives; proactively identify opportunities to
support team members and improve workflows.
About You
Required: High School diploma or equivalent + minimum of 2-3 years related experience.
Proficiency in benefits systems and technologies used internally and by clients,including Microsoft Office (Teams, OneDrive), HRIS systems, and EPIC.
Strong organizational skills and timely follow-up with team members and clients.
Commitment to ongoing professional development and expanding insurance and technical knowledge.
Strong Excel skills.

We offer a competitive and comprehensive compensation package. The base salary range represents the anticipated low end and high end of the range for this position. The actual compensation will be influenced by a wide range of factors including, but not limited to previous experience, education, pay market/geography, complexity or scope, specialized skill set, lines of business/practice area, supply/demand, and scheduled hours.
