Overview
Gallagher is looking for a Cloud Governance Lead (Azure and AWS) to work with divisions across the globe. This role requires a strong hands-on approach, combining leadership skills with practical, sound knowledge of Azure services, infrastructure, and policy as code practices.
How you'll make an impact
Governance Strategy:
- Develop and implement comprehensive governance strategies to ensure the secure, compliant, and efficient use of cloud resources.
- Define and enforce policies, procedures, and guidelines for Azure/AWS resource provisioning and usage.
Policy Management:
- Create and manage Azure Policy definitions / AWS SCP to enforce compliance with organizational standards and regulatory requirements.
- Regularly review and update policies to address changing business needs and industry best practices.
Security and Compliance:
- Collaborate with the security team to implement robust security controls and ensure adherence to industry-specific compliance standards.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify and mitigate security risks in Azure environments.
Resource Tagging and Categorization:
- Enforce a standardized approach for tagging and categorizing Azure resources to facilitate better resource management, cost tracking, and reporting.
Cost Optimization:
- Implement and monitor cost management strategies to optimize Azure spending.
- Analyze usage patterns and recommend adjustments to resource configurations to achieve cost efficiency.
Training and Awareness:
- Provide training and documentation to stakeholders on governance policies and best practices.
- Foster a culture of responsibility and accountability for cloud resource usage across the organization.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, development, and operations, to understand their requirements and incorporate them into governance frameworks.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure alignment between business goals and Azure governance practices.
About You
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, systems analysis or a related study, or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of experience in Infrastructure and/or Technology in large organizations.
- Solid understanding of Azure Cloud Services – IaaS, PaaS and SaaS.
- Strong proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, ARM templates, etc.) and policy definition languages.
- Demonstrated expertise in policy as code methodologies for Azure governance.
- Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert are preferred.
- Excellent organization and documentation skills.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills to technical and non-technical audiences.
