Note: 5 years of formal Mechanical ATE mechanical development experience, along with a high level of expertise in the ATE specialty domain is required for consideration. Test Equipment (ATE / STE). Power Distribution, Motor Controls, and Actuation Device interfaces will be the prime applications of the subject ATE. Overview:

Client seeks a Mechanical Engineer to support ATE development in the Power / Control Actuation Systems (PAS) / Space / Marine Lines of Business. Applicant should have a strong background in Mechanical Test Equipment Engineering, and possess a demonstrated ability in designing, developing, integrating, and deploying Special (Peculiar) Test Equipment (ATE / STE). Power Distribution, Motor Controls, and Actuation Device interfaces will be the prime applications of the subject ATE. Test Equipment Documentation and Drafting will also require high competencies in Automated Test Equipment practices and user interfaces. A strong emphasis on team cohesion is necessary.



Essential or Primary / Key Responsibilities:

Design and Development of Test Stations, ITAs, Interface Adaptors, Cables, Fixtures, and Load Rigs are the primary responsibilities of this position. These are typically in support of manual and automated Test Equipment for DVT testing, Qual testing, ATP testing, and ESS testing. TE Rack Assembly Drawings, Interconnect Diagrams, Parts Lists, Design Review preparation (TE SRR, TE CDR, TE Validation), Configuration Management, Estimating, and Technical Presentation package assembly are also key skills. The incumbent will work closely with the new product development team for the Prime Mission Equipment from Development and Rapid Prototyping, through Production.



Qualifications:

A minimum of 5 years of formal ATE mechanical development experience, along with a high level of expertise in the ATE specialty domain is required. Subject areas of demonstrated ability should include all mechanical aspects of Test Station, ITA, Cable and Interconnect Diagram design, Requirements review, and TE Validation.



Required Skills:

Test Equipment Console layout, ITA Design, Electrical/Mechanical Drafting, 3D Design and Modeling, Configuration Management Practices, Knowledge of Mil/ASME/ISO Standards, machining /manufacturing processes, materials/finishes, thermal calculations/management, Design Review preparation, estimation, and technical presentation package/document development.

Software Support: Word/Excel, PowerPoint, AutoCad, Visio, CREO/Pro-E

Required Education:

Bachelor’s degree in ME



Work Environment:

The primary work environment will be the lab/office area, with occasional travel to one of the lab facilities that provide outsource capability for Qualification events.
