Join Gilead and help create possible, together.Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly motivated Senior Associate Scientist to join our Oncology in vivo pharmacology team.  The selected candidate will be responsible for evaluating novel oncology therapeutics in pre-clinical models. Hands on experience and substantiated knowledge of mouse oncology models and cancer biology is required. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, generating and communicating pharmacology data to support the progression of oncology research programs. Title will be commensurate with experience.Primary responsibilities:Plan, execute (includes dosing, measuring tumors, collecting tissues), troubleshoot and analyze in vivo pharmacology experiments (efficacy, PK/PD)Pre-clinical model development and characterizationInterface with cross-functional project team members, and participate in and presentation at project team meetings and cross-departmental team meetingsQualifications & prior experience:BS or MS in Biology or Pharmacology related discipline5-7 years of research experience in an industry settingExperience with in vivo pharmacology research experiments or related activities that support drug discovery and development.Expertise with mouse models of cancer and cancer immunotherapyProficiency with various mouse handling techniques including dosing (IV, PO, subcutaneous, IP), tumor inoculation/measurements, in life and terminal blood collection, collection and handling of tissues during necropsy and processing for ex vivo analysisExperience with sterile tissue culture, and molecular and basic cellular biology techniquesHands on experience with flow cytometry and multi-parametric analysis (5+ colors) is desiredExperience with in vivo imaging is desiredComputer literacy, especially proficiency with GraphPad Prism, Excel, PowerPoint and WordExcellent organizational and communication skills, along with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environmentDemonstrated ability to work independently on day-to-day responsibilities and research goalsThe salary range for this position is: $133,280.00 - $172,480.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package.
