Restaurant General Manager Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all day-to-day restaurant and bar operations, including dinner service and multi-meal period coverage
  • Lead, coach, and develop supervisors and staff, ensuring high standards of service and guest experience
  • Maintain profitability through labor cost management, inventory oversight, and P&L monitoring
  • Collaborate with culinary, marketing, finance, and hotel leadership to execute menu rollouts, promotions, and special events
  • Ensure compliance with SOPs, ServSafe, Responsible Vendor, and other regulatory standards
  • Conduct pre-shift meetings, performance reviews, and staff training programs
  • Monitor food quality, presentation, and service standards, providing feedback and guidance in real time

Restaurant General Manager Qualifications:

  • 3–5+ years of progressive restaurant or hotel F&B leadership experience, including at least 2 years managing a full-service operation
  • Strong financial acumen with proven ability to manage budgets, labor, and inventory
  • Deep operational knowledge of restaurant and bar service standards, steps of service, and fine dining principles
  • Experience in planning and executing special events and high-volume dinner service
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as business needs require
  • Polished, professional presence with a hands-on, visible approach to leadership
