Job Title: Vice President – Construction

Location: Covina, CA (Projects throughout Southern California)

Position Overview

An established commercial contractor is seeking a Vice President to lead its Tenant Improvement (TI) / Contracts Division. This is a senior leadership role responsible for driving operational performance, financial results, and client relationships across a fast-paced, project-driven business unit.


Role Summary

This position offers full ownership of a high-performing TI division operating as a subcontractor to General Contractors. The Vice President will oversee day-to-day operations, lead project management teams, and maintain accountability for overall division profitability and execution.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide executive leadership for the commercial contracts division with full P&L responsibility
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Project Managers, along with field and customer-facing personnel
  • Ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and aligned with margin targets
  • Establish and enforce operational processes related to job costing, scheduling, and project execution
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with General Contractors and key clients
  • Oversee contract administration, including change orders, risk mitigation, and compliance

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in commercial construction or subcontracting environments (MEP or plumbing strongly preferred)
  • Demonstrated success managing P&L for a project-based business in the $10M–$50M range
  • Proven leadership experience overseeing Project Managers and field operations teams
  • Strong financial and operational acumen, including job costing, forecasting, and margin management
  • Experience in Tenant Improvement or other fast-paced, high-volume project environments

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary: $200,000–$250,000, plus performance-based bonus tied to revenue and EBITDA
