Luxury Resort Restaurant General Manager Requirements & Qualifications


  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in restaurant management, ideally in a 4- or 5-star resort
  • Strong knowledge of food, wine, spirits, and beverage operations
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and guest-service skills
  • TIPS certification required
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and POS systems
  • Stable work history (no more than 2 jobs in the past 5 years)
  • High-volume experience (385+ daily covers)

Luxury Resort Restaurant General Manager Day-to-Day Responsibilities


  • Lead and actively participate in daily restaurant operations while ensuring five-star service standards
  • Recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate staff to promote growth and exceptional performance
  • Manage labor, operating, food, and beverage costs; oversee payroll and inventory control
  • Resolve guest concerns and requests professionally to maintain high satisfaction
  • Collaborate with other resort departments to meet VIP, group, and event needs
  • Ensure ongoing service training and compliance with all health, safety, and alcohol regulations
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping, maintenance, and equipment quality
