Our client, a highly respected and growing multi-unit hospitality organization, is seeking an experienced Controller to oversee the accounting and financial operations of its restaurant, retail, and corporate entities. This is a key leadership role reporting directly to the CFO and partnering closely with executive leadership to ensure financial accuracy, operational efficiency, and compliance across the organization.


Controller Responsibilities

  • Lead all day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, bank reconciliations, and inventory accounting.
  • Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
  • Manage and mentor the accounting team, providing leadership, coaching, and performance management.
  • Partner with executive leadership to develop annual budgets, forecasts, and financial analyses.
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
  • Oversee tax compliance and coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors.
  • Support the financial setup of new business locations, including accounting processes, licenses, permits, and administrative requirements.
  • Collaborate with operations leadership to improve financial processes and drive business performance.

Controller Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting leadership experience, including experience as a Controller, Assistant Controller, or Accounting Manager.
  • Luxury Multi-unit restaurant or hospitality accounting experience required
  • Experience with Restaurant365 or similar restaurant accounting software is strongly required.
  • Familiarity with POS systems such as Toast is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, internal controls, financial reporting, budgeting, and cash management.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
  • Proven leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Some travel is involved as needed (Minimal)

Controller Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $150,000–$170,000, depending on experience
