An established hospitality group is seeking an experienced Area Director of Finance to oversee financial operations across multiple hotel properties. Area Director of Finance Requirements & Qualifications


  • At least 5 years of hospitality finance or accounting experience.
  • Prior experience as Controller or Director of Finance, preferably with premium-branded hotels.
  • Proven track record overseeing financials for multiple hotel properties simultaneously.
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows, spreadsheets, word processing, and hotel-specific systems.
  • Experience supervising 2 or more employees.


Area Director of Finance Preferred Background & Skills


  • Experience collaborating with CPA firms and managing external audits.
  • Demonstrated success in coaching, training, and developing finance staff.


Area Director of Finance Day-to-Day Responsibilities


  • Lead financial operations for assigned hotels, including accurate cash flow and monthly financial statement preparation.
  • Monitor revenues, expenses, and ensure precise financial recording and reporting.
  • Develop annual budgets, conduct monthly variance analysis, and recommend improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, permits, leases, contracts, and company standards.
  • Analyze financial data, advise hotel management, and maintain strong internal controls.
  • Oversee and finalize balance sheet accounts, bank reconciliations, and general ledger reviews.
  • Hire, train, and supervise accounting staff, fostering ongoing professional development.
  • Direct timely preparation of all required weekly, monthly, and annual financial reports.
  • Coordinate and facilitate successful completion of internal and external audits.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to ensure operations are financially on track.
