Kitchen Manager Requirements & Qualifications


  • 2–4+ years of Back-of-House leadership experience (Kitchen Manager, Sous Chef, or equivalent)
  • Strong knowledge of scratch cooking and high-volume kitchen operations
  • Proven ability to manage food cost, inventory, and labor performance
  • Deep understanding of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Food safety certification required or obtainable


Kitchen Manager Preferred Background & Skills


  • Experience with Italian or Mediterranean cuisine
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
  • Familiarity with ordering, inventory, or scheduling systems


Kitchen Manager Day-to-Day Responsibilities


  • Ensure consistent execution of recipes, portioning, and kitchen standards
  • Lead, train, and develop the kitchen staff with hands-on coaching and feedback
  • Oversee inventory, ordering, and daily prep to maintain quality and minimize waste
  • Enforce food safety, sanitation, and equipment standards at all times
  • Collaborate with the management team to ensure smooth service and guest satisfaction
