Associate Attorney – Appellate Practice Requirements & Qualifications


  • 2–3 years of relevant legal experience, ideally with exposure to appellate practice
  • Exceptional academic credentials
  • Outstanding legal research, writing, and analytical abilities
  • Demonstrated oral advocacy and communication skills
  • Experience drafting appellate briefs and dispositive motions
  • Federal judicial clerkship experience highly preferred
  • Must be an active member in good standing with the Florida Bar
  • Must provide transcripts and a writing sample; references required before final interview

  • Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis for a wide range of appellate matters
  • Draft appellate briefs, motions, memoranda, and persuasive legal documents
  • Assist with and participate in oral arguments and appellate hearings
  • Analyze trial court records to identify appellate issues and strategies
  • Collaborate with attorneys across practice groups on appeals involving diverse legal areas
  • Stay up to date on developments in Florida and federal appellate law
