Responsibilities of the Senior Tax Attorney:

  • Represent clients before the IRS and state tax authorities with professionalism and precision
  • Manage all aspects of complex tax controversy cases, from intake to closure
  • Evaluate case strategies, perform risk assessments, and advise clients on the best resolution path
  • Supervise, train, and support associate attorneys and paralegals
  • Maintain accurate time tracking and case documentation in the firm’s management system
  • Meet annual billing (1,500 hours) and business development (96 hours) goals
  • Deliver exceptional client experiences through proactive communication and transparency

Qualifications of the Senior Tax Attorney:

  • Active Bar license required
  • 5+ years of experience in tax controversy (law firm, accounting firm, or corporate environment)
  • Strong technical skills with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and Adobe Acrobat
  • Experience with legal billing and case management systems
  • Excellent written, verbal, and analytical communication abilities
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and mentoring skills
