Vice President of Accounting Requirements & Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (Master’s degree preferred)
  • CPA strongly preferred
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting and financial reporting experience
  • Background in banking or financial services required
  • Public accounting experience (Big Four or similar) highly valued
  • Proven ability to build, mentor, and lead high-performing teams
  • Advanced knowledge of US GAAP; IFRS exposure a plus
  • Experience with accounting systems, ERP environments, and process automation
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to solve complex problems
  • Excellent communication and executive presence
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and able to pass a background check

Vice President of Accounting Preferred Background & Skills

Vice President of Accounting Day-to-Day Responsibilities


  • Lead, develop, and mentor the accounting team while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
  • Oversee all core accounting activities including financial reporting, accounts payable, cash management, and financial controls
  • Ensure compliance with US GAAP (and IFRS where applicable) and support audit processes
  • Partner with the CFO and executive team on financial strategy, forecasting, and decision-making
  • Drive process optimization, automation, and ERP/system enhancements
  • Communicate clear, actionable financial insights to leadership and cross-functional partners
