Sous Chef (Executive Sous Chef Track) – Upscale, High-Volume Concept

This role is ideal for a polished, high-potential leader who understands the business of the kitchen and is prepared to grow into an Executive Sous Chef role, overseeing day-to-day culinary operations while executing the vision of the Executive Chef.

What We’re Looking For

Required Experience & Capabilities:

  • 4+ years of salaried Sous Chef or Kitchen Management experience
  • Proven success in high-volume operations ($2M+ in annual sales)
  • Upscale or polished-casual dining experience
  • Strong understanding of kitchen P&L including food cost, labor, inventory, and waste control
  • Ability to execute and enforce recipes, systems, and standards established by the Executive Chef
  • Demonstrated ability to lead the entire kitchen in the absence of the Executive Chef
  • Proven success in training, developing, and motivating culinary teams
  • Stable tenure with a track record of accountability and results
  • Professional, positive attitude with a team-first leadership style

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and execute the Executive Chef’s culinary vision
  • Manage daily BOH operations, scheduling, and line execution
  • Own food cost, labor cost, inventory, and purchasing controls
  • Ensure consistent recipe execution, plating, and quality standards
  • Train and mentor Sous Chefs, line cooks, and prep teams
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment
  • Step into an Executive Sous Chef role, running the kitchen as needed
