Plant Controller Requirements & Qualifications
- Undergraduate business degree in accounting or finance required
- Demonstrated expertise in cost accounting, budgeting, and financial operations in a manufacturing environment
- Proven ability to implement new systems, processes, and controls
- Solid understanding of manufacturing financial and operating metrics
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Strong attention to detail with a proactive, results-oriented approach
- Leadership abilities with experience developing team members
Plant Controller Preferred Background & Skills
- Experience working in food manufacturing
- Familiarity with NetSuite and QuickBooks
- Background with private equity-backed portfolio companies
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
Plant Controller Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Partner with operations and finance teams to implement and standardize costing
- Analyze plant labor, operational spending, and inventory balances to optimize manufacturing performance
- Prepare and review daily, weekly, and monthly plant performance reports
- Implement inventory systems, processes, and controls to maintain accuracy and compliance
- Supervise inventory counts and document best practices
- Oversee and drive accounting team performance for timely financial close
- Collaborate to deliver accurate financial data, including weekly metrics and spend analysis
- Support NetSuite Financials implementation, including system design, data migration, and ongoing administration
- Assist in preparing GAAP financial statements, ensuring data integrity and proper reconciliation
- Monitor accounts receivable, accounts payable, and inventory reserves
