Personal Lines Account Manager Requirements & Qualifications


  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Personal Lines insurance
  • Property & Casualty Insurance License required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, maturity, and professionalism in all client and team interactions
  • Experience with Epic System is a plus
  • Familiarity with cross-selling and upselling insurance products


Personal Lines Account Manager Day-to-Day Responsibilities


  • Manage a personal lines book of business, providing proactive, individualized customer service
  • Respond promptly and accurately to complex customer inquiries regarding policies, coverages, and claims
  • Oversee processing of new policies, renewals, endorsements, and cancellations to ensure accuracy and timeliness
  • Maintain and update client and policy information within the agency management system
  • Serve as a trusted advisor, helping clients understand their insurance options and guiding them through coverage selections
  • Identify opportunities for cross-selling and upselling additional insurance products
  • Collaborate with team members and participate in agency meetings to support collective goals
  • Ensure all account management activities comply with company policies and regulatory requirements
  • Mentor and assist in the training of junior account managers as needed
