LICENSED VETERINARY TECHNICIAN (LVT) NEEDED IN DC

LVT REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT)
  • 1+ year of clinical experience
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Comfortable using computers and online tools
  • Strong communication and client-facing skills
  • Team-oriented, proactive, and dependable
  • Thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment
  • Passion for animal care and patient advocacy
  • Availability to work every other Saturday on a rotating schedule:
    • Week 1: 4 × 10-hour shifts
    • Week 2: 3 × 10-hour shifts + 1 × 8-hour Saturday shift

LVT DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Triage patients and recognize medical emergencies
  • Assess patients and record vitals
  • Assist doctors with diagnostics and treatments
  • Provide basic nursing care and patient monitoring
  • Draw blood and place catheters
  • Assist with and facilitate radiography
  • Prepare and run in-house laboratory tests
  • Prepare samples for external reference labs
  • Prepare and administer medications as directed
  • Monitor patient status and communicate changes to the medical team
  • Support a clean, calm, and hospitable clinical environment
