Accounting Manager Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, with at least 2 years of accounting/finance management experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge of, and ability to apply, GAAP standards
  • Experience with general ledger management and account reconciliation
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations
  • Proven ability to work effectively with colleagues and regulatory personnel
  • Strong computer skills, including advanced Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with or ability to learn timekeeping and payroll systems
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Gaming Commission license and pass background check and drug screening
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective leadership and customer service orientation


Accounting Manager Preferred Background & Skills

  • Experience with Great Plains accounting system and FRx Report Writer
  • Knowledge of gaming regulatory requirements including NIGC, MICS, and Oklahoma State Compact
  • Leadership experience mentoring or developing team members


Accounting Manager Day-to-Day Responsibilities


  • Direct and mentor team members, promoting growth and maintaining a positive, team-oriented environment
  • Lead daily accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions
  • Oversee and ensure accuracy and timeliness of monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes
  • Recommend and implement economic strategies and financial policies
  • Participate in business planning sessions and financial reviews with management
  • Support operational budgets, compliance, and reporting to regulatory agencies
  • Assist in managing property cash flows and coordinating audits
  • Provide ongoing training and support for team members on payroll and timekeeping systems
