Director of Distribution Requirements & Qualifications


  • Minimum 7 years of progressive leadership experience in warehouse, distribution, or logistics operations
  • Proven success managing multi-shift, high-volume distribution environments
  • Experience leading large hourly teams and developing frontline managers
  • Solid understanding of labor planning, productivity KPIs, and key operational metrics
  • Demonstrated safety leadership and thorough knowledge of OSHA compliance
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and collaboration abilities


Director of Distribution Preferred Background & Skills


  • Experience in foodservice distribution, grocery, or temperature-controlled logistics
  • Lean, Six Sigma, or formal continuous improvement training/certification
  • Hands-on experience with WMS/ERP implementation


Director of Distribution Day-to-Day Responsibilities


  • Set strategy and operational execution plans for a multi-temperature distribution center
  • Lead and hold accountable a team of Operations Managers and their hourly teams across multiple shifts
  • Oversee every aspect of daily warehouse activities, including receiving, storage, order selection, shipping, and transportation coordination
  • Monitor, analyze, and drive operational KPIs to ensure productivity and service excellence
  • Uphold a culture centered on safety, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Guide labor planning, scheduling strategies, and employee relations to build engagement and retain top talent
