Chief Financial Officer Requirements & Qualifications


  • Significant senior financial leadership experience in a continuing care retirement community or related healthcare/long-term care environment
  • Demonstrated success supporting organizational growth, expansion, or multi-site operations
  • Expertise in financial and capital planning, including debt financing and long-term forecasting
  • Proven ability to communicate complex financial concepts clearly to board members and non-financial stakeholders
  • Strong track record of upholding integrity, sound judgment, and organizational sustainability


Chief Financial Officer Preferred Background & Skills


  • Experience building scalable finance systems for multi-location organizations
  • Collaborative leadership style aligned with mission-driven organizations
  • Familiarity with nonprofit governance, compliance, and risk management for healthcare entities


Chief Financial Officer Day-to-Day Responsibilities


  • Serve as a strategic partner to the CEO and board, driving financial strategies for organizational expansion
  • Lead long-range financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance monitoring across all campuses
  • Oversee financial stewardship, ensuring transparency and responsible management of cash flow, reserves, investments, and debt obligations
  • Collaborate with operational leaders to align financial strategy with resident satisfaction and service line performance
  • Maintain regulatory compliance, guide audit processes, and manage relationships with auditors and financial advisors
  • Build, mentor, and develop a strong finance team supporting operational and strategic goals
