Project Manager Requirements & Qualifications
- Proven experience as a construction project manager with a general contractor or subcontractor
- In-depth knowledge of modern construction procedures and materials
- Strong project management skills and familiarity with quality and safety standards
- Proficient with MS Office and construction/project management software
- Excellent communication, negotiation, organizational, and time management abilities
- Demonstrated team leadership and collaboration skills
- BS/BA in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred
Project Manager Preferred Background & Skills
- Experience coordinating with engineers, architects, and general contractors
- Knowledge of metal roofing and siding projects
- Background in both public and private sector construction
- Experience with restoration or specialty fabrication considered a plus
Project Manager Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, building owners, and general contractors throughout the project lifecycle
- Manage and process submittals, shop drawings, and samples
- Oversee project material ordering, scheduling, logistics, and jobsite timelines
- Monitor project progress and coordinate with superintendents and foremen to resolve issues
- Ensure accuracy in monthly billing, manage change orders, and document “as built” changes
- Lead project closeout, punch list completion, final inspections, and site cleanup
- Attend pre-bid meetings and contribute to continuous process improvement
