Chief Engineer Requirements:

  • This role will be ~70% Hotel Engineering & ~30% shared services (i.e. - associate housing maintenance and several high end rental properties
  • Observe and adhere to all safety and security procedures, promoting a safe work environment.
  • Provide proper safety and security training for staff.
  • Demonstrate initiative by seeking out new assignments and assuming additional duties when necessary.
  • Undertake self-development activities to enhance technical and leadership skills.
  • Include appropriate stakeholders in decision-making processes.
  • Contribute to building a positive team spirit and demonstrate effective teamwork.
  • Work effectively with other departments to accomplish shared goals.
  • Deliver high-quality service to internal and external customers.

Chief Engineer Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Chief Engineer or Engineering Manager in a luxury hotel or similar environment.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and preventive maintenance programs.
  • Ability to mentor and develop staff, fostering a culture of safety and excellence.
  • Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs and perform physical tasks such as climbing, stooping, and kneeling.
  • Comfortable working in indoor/outdoor environments with moderate to high noise levels and occasional work in high-level areas (roofs, decks, etc.).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
