Job Description:

The work of an admissions counselor assures that enrollment goals are met. Admissions counselors participate as active members of the recruitment team, where they identify, recruit, and enroll prospective students.

Essential Job Functions:

30 % A. Manage a multi-state recruitment territory by representing the college to prospective students, families, secondary school counselors, and other key stakeholders involved in the college selection process. Plan and implement recruitment activities for assigned high schools and community-based organizations in the form of school visits, college fairs, and speaking engagements. Evaluate applications and make admissions decisions from assigned recruitment territory.

25 % B. Read, interpret, and evaluate first-year applicants academic credentials to determine an admission decision. Participate on the Admissions Committee to recruit a well-prepared incoming class of a desired size.

25 % C. Counsel prospective students and other individuals from inquiry through matriculation through in-person conversations, virtual events, phone, web-based platforms, email, and texts. Participate in on-campus and virtual admissions events.

20 % D. Perform other duties as assigned.

Education:

Required: Bachelor's degree

Professional Experience:

Required: Familiarity with the admissions process

Preferred: Previous experience serving as an admissions counselor
