Overview:

GovCIO is currently hiring a Cybersecurity Solutions Architect to provide design, implementation, and operational support for cybersecurity solutions in Defense Infrastructure supporting foreign military sales (FMS) programs. This position will involve working on multi-vendor military networks and systems, ensuring that security architectures are aligned with DoD regulations and FMS-specific requirements. The position is Remote and must be able to drive to Tampa, FL.

Responsibilities:

As a Cyber Security Solutions Architect, you will play a critical role in the success of the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) program by developing cybersecurity capabilities. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the protection of defense infrastructure capabilities. You will oversee the design and implementation of cyber security capabilities supporting mission partners networks and systems within FMS programs, aligning your work with U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) regulations and FMS-specific security requirements. In this role, you will leverage your expertise to develop comprehensive threat assessments, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and provide leadership with actionable solutions. Your work will ensure the secure implementation and operational resilience of Defense Infrastructure for U.S. and allied nations in accordance with FMS processes and requirements.

  • Designs and implements security solutions based on threat data from multiple sources, ensuring Defense Infrastructure supporting Foreign Military Sales (FMS) programs are protected from cyber threats. Develops defensive architectures aligned with DoD cybersecurity regulations and FMS-specific security requirements, addressing identified hacker methods and motives.
  • Provides tailored cybersecurity solutions to customers by translating threat assessments and vulnerability reports into actionable defensive measures. Implements comprehensive security solutions that enhance situational awareness and fortify U.S. and allied military networks involved in FMS programs.
  • Designs and deploys cyber defense mechanisms based on threat profiles, considering regional, country-specific, group-based, or individual threat actors. Develops and integrates defensive tools and solutions that minimize the impact of cyber threats on FMS implementations, ensuring proactive risk mitigation.
  • Implements comprehensive risk mitigation strategies by evaluating attack vectors, vulnerabilities, and potential risks associated with Defense Infrastructure systems and networks. Designs threat-resistant infrastructures that comply with both U.S. and partner-nation security requirements under FMS agreements.
  • Provides advanced forensic and intrusion response capabilities to support cyber investigations related to FMS programs. Leads the design and implementation of forensic tools and solutions for data recovery, evidence seizure, and network assessments to protect mission-critical infrastructure from cyber threats.
  • Maintains and integrates emerging cybersecurity tools, techniques, and countermeasures into Defense Infrastructure systems to address vulnerabilities, encryption needs, and advanced persistent threats (APTs) targeting FMS-supported networks. Continuously upgrades security solutions to meet evolving threats.
  • Collaborates with FMS cybersecurity teams and analysts to design, implement and coordinate the remediation of cyber threats. Ensures that all remediation efforts are integrated into the Defense Infrastructure in a way that meets FMS security guidelines and regulatory compliance.
  • Implements intelligence-driven cybersecurity defenses by providing actionable intelligence and integrating sanitized threat data into the design and deployment of defensive architectures. Ensures cyber incident response teams are equipped with the tools and information to protect FMS-related infrastructure.
  • Leverages in-depth technical knowledge of military networks and systems to design and implement cybersecurity solutions tailored to Defense Infrastructure supporting FMS programs. Develops security recommendations and implements protective measures that meet the unique requirements of FMS agreements and infrastructure standards.
  • Design solutions based on intelligence analysis of intrusion signatures, tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) associated with cyber attacks. Integrates these insights into the security design and implementation process, ensuring alignment with DoD and FMS cybersecurity policies and standards.
  • Researches and integrates defensive measures against threat actors, techniques, vulnerabilities, and exploits, focusing on protecting FMS infrastructure. Provides technical guidance and implements solutions based on threat actor analysis to ensure informed, secure decision-making for military leadership and stakeholders.
Qualifications:

High School with 10+ years (or commensurate experience)

Required Skills and Experience

 

Clearance:  SECRET

  • Must have a valid US Passport and be prepared for international travel up to 40% at customer locations in Eastern Europe and South America.
  • Two or more years of experience with the processes, regulations, and requirements associated with Defense Infrastructure Capabilities supporting Foreign Military Sales implementation programs.
  • Proficiency with network drawing and productivity tools (Visio, Lucid, AutoCAD, etc.) is necessary.
  • Current DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification (Security+CE, CCNA Security, CySA+, CASP, etc.).
  • Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
  • IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) v3 or higher.
  • Experience with Cyber Network Defense (CND), Cybersecurity Operations, or current CCNA Level Certification.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Relevant BS Degree +8 years; or Master’s Degree + 6 of prior relevant experience. Specific expertise, education, and training may be considered in place of a degree.
  • Experience with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), Vulnerability Assessment Software (VAS), Intrusion Detection and Intrusion Prevention Systems (ID/IPS), Endpoint Detection & Response (EDR), Digital Fly-Away Kits (FAKs), and/or Pentest Capabilities
  • A military background within the Signal, Communications, Cyber, or Information Technology MOS will be heavily desired.
  • CCNA Security or CCNA CyberOps
  • Desired Qualifications in place of CCNA: JNCIS-SEC, PCNSA, GIAC, GCP.
  • Microsoft Systems MCSA, VMware, Cloud Security, Linux, or other Cybersecurity certifications or measurable experience, a plus.

Posted Pay Range

 

The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Posted Salary Range: USD $140,000.00 - USD $150,000.00 /Yr.
