Overview GovCIO is currently hiring a Systems Engineer to maintain detailed documentation of the network infrastructure, manage device inventory, and keep abreast of new and emerging technology to meet ever changing systems demands. This position will be in San Antonio, TX and will be flexible for occasional remote work position. Responsibilities GovCIO integrates deployable communications capabilities on behalf of our customer to provide deployable communications capabilities worldwide. GovCIO manages the hardware and software configurations; develops and provides training; field service support, logistics services; and manages Information Assurance and Risk Management Framework processes on behalf of the customer . The Systems Engineer's (SE) role involves the design, development, and implementation of network and computer systems. The SE will provide expert technical advice to other stakeholders as requirements are gathered and vetted to begin the engineering process. Once a solution is designed, approved, and implemented, the SE will work with administrators to ensure that systems are updated, patched, and maintained to comply with security best practices. As the subject matter expert, the SE will provide Tier 4 support to customers and other administrators for networks and systems within their domain. SEs must be able to collaborate with other engineers and administrators to resolve incidents related to the system in a timely manner. The SE must maintain detailed documentation of the system's infrastructure, including configuration items, device inventory, interconnection diagrams, and more. The SE must keep abreast of new and emerging standards and technologies to provide technical advice regarding improving existing capabilities and integrating new solutions. As a System Engineer your responsibilities will include but are not limited to: * Coordinates the planning, design, and installation of equipment, using knowledge of engineering and programming as well as sophisticated instruments and computers. * Participates in system conceptual design and documentation of the design concepts. * Installs all new hardware, systems, and software for networks. * Designing and configuring computer hardware, and operating system software, and other applications. * Generates system level requirements verification procedures and customer acceptance test procedures. * Monitors system performance and implements performance tuning. * Reviews test plans/procedures and ensures they meet the objectives of the contractual requirements and participates in the testing process to validate requirements. * Maintain and administer related computing environments including systems software, applications software, hardware, and configurations. * Perform disaster recovery operations and data backups when required. * Protect data, software, and hardware by coordinating, planning, and implementing network security measures. * Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve hardware, software, and other network and system problems. * Replace faulty hardware components when required. * Maintain, configure, and monitor security applications. * Creating and maintaining technical diagrams, documentation, and other configuration items Qualifications High School with 6 - 9 years (or commensurate experience) Required Skills and Experience: * Clearance Required: TS/SCI * Hypervisors like VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, Citrix Hypervisor, and VMware ESXi * HCI such as Nutanix, Dell/EMC VxRail, or VMware vSAN * VDI solutions such as VMware Horizon or Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops * Experience with Tanium, ServiceNow, Kubernetes, Ansible, Terraform, Containerd, Docker, Prometheus * Experience with languages SQL, HTML, CSS, Python, PowerShell * Current DOD 8570.01-M IAT Level II certification (Sec+CE, SSCP, CND, CCNA Security, etc.) Preferred Skills and Experience: * Experience with DoD deployed communications * Experience with DoD NIPR, SIPR and JWICS Networks * DoD 8570.01-M IASAE II (CASP+CE, CISSP, CSSLP) compliance #pipeline Company Overview GovCIO is a team of transformers--people who are passionate about transforming government IT.
