Seeking a?PRN Interventional Technologist?for our practice who provides clinical expertise to ensure all patients receive high quality, efficient care.
The Interventional Radiology Technologist assists and supports the Interventional & Neuro Radiologists in maintaining sterile fields, procedural tray prep and procedural supplies. The Interventional technologist carries out responsibilities in both administrative support and technical areas
What you will do in this role:
Performs Interventional & Neuro Radiology exams following protocols and in a timely manner, ensuring a high quality of care.
- Charges for procedures and supply items upon completion of procedure.
- Provides post procedure care to the patient (includes holding pressure as well as cleaning, suturing and bandaging of procedure site), and obtains informed consent.
- Effectively assists members of the health care team with specific procedures and treatments; shares knowledge and expertise with others and willingly assists co-workers, fosters teamwork and contributes to team goals.
- Reviews quality of radiographs to insure quality standards have been met. Possesses an understanding of and adherence to the Code of Conduct, and demonstrates knowledge of the occurrence reporting system.
- Executes protocol appropriately on all radiographic equipment
- Takes patient history and retrieves any necessary orders or prior images.
- Appropriately completes documentation including patient demographics, images and dose data.
- Coordinates patient flow and checks daily list to ensure all exams are complete.
- Supports ALARA by appropriately alerting physicians of intra-procedure dose thresholds.
- Daily upkeep of departmental work areas (cleaning, stocking, etc)
Qualifications:
- R.T.(R) (ARRT), SCRQSA Registry required
- BLS required
- Graduate of an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology and ARRT required
- Rotating weekends and weekday 30 minute call inrequired
- Year of Interventional experience is strongly preferred.
- VI, CI, CV, and ACLS Certifications preferred
