What You Will Do:
The Financial Counselor is responsible for program eligibility by screening patients for program eligibility and communicating with Guidehouse such findings. The Eligibility Rep is also responsible for assisting patients with the completion of applications, assist in coordinating efforts between the patient, hospital, doctors, and third-party agencies to obtain info needed for the eligibility process. Must accurately collect and input patient eligibility and status information into the system and follow through with the patient and other involved parties.

This position is located at Jefferson Towers, UAB, and has a schedule of Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm. Please be advised, the schedule is subject to change bases on hospital census and the needs of the business.
 

What You Will Need:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • 1-3 years prior experience in hospital admitting, eligibility, financial counselor, business office, or physician office.

What Would Be Nice to Have:  

  • Working knowledge/experience of Federal, State and County eligibility programs.

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

  • Knowledge of MS4 helpful.

  • Ability to initiate and follow through on projects and work independently.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Must be able to type 35-45 words per minute.
