What You Will Do:
Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, performs a variety of duties related to processing of overpayments made to UAB Hospital/PFS.  Such duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Processes returned refunds, routes insurance payer requests for processing, assists team with prepping/mailing of overpayments

  • Communicates issues to management timely.

  • Performs other duties as assigned by direct supervisors.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

  • Basic computer skills.


What You Will Need:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

What Would Be Nice To Have:

  • Two years of related experience and general knowledge of payor-specific or medical specialty billing.

  • Knowledge of CPT and ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding.
