What You Will Do

Guidehouse is looking for a Database Subject Matter Expert (SME). The SME will provide technical/management leadership on major tasks or technology assignments. Establish goals and plans that meet project objectives. Performs the following kinds of functions:

  • Design, implement, and maintain complex databases.
  • Facilitating the bulk analysis of relational information utilizing advanced graphics, visualization, and high-performance computing, as well as using the specified open source, COTS, and GOTS technologies; and establishing an application that produces manageable, actionable intelligence from streams of a structured and semi-structured data.
  • Maintain database dictionaries and integration of systems through database design.
  • Administer and test computer databases, applying knowledge of database management systems.
  • Designing strategies for enterprise database systems and set standards for operations, programming, and security.
  • Integrating new systems with existing warehouse structure and refine system performance and functionality.
  • Coordinate changes to computer databases.
  • May plan, coordinate, and implement security measures to safeguard computer databases.
  • Maintaining several legacy systems, minor enhancements to still-in-use applications, ensuring continued authority to operate, and ultimately for sunsetting those systems after their functions have been subsumed or replaced.
  • Initiates, supervises, and/or develops requirements from a project’s inception to conclusion for complex to extremely complex programs
  • Provides strategic advice, technical guidance and expertise to program and project staff
  • Provides detailed analysis, evaluation and recommendations for improvements, optimization development, and/or maintenance efforts for client-specific or mission critical challenges/issues
  • Consults with client to define need or problem supervises studies and leads surveys to collect and analyze data to provide advice and recommend solutions.
  • May supervise others.

 What You Will Need

  • An ACTIVE and MAINTAINED TOP SECRET Federal or DoD security clearance
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • TEN (10) or more years of experience related to Database Administration or Database Management and/or Infrastructure System Support

What Would Be Nice To Have

  • Linux Admin, VMWare vSphere 6/7 experience, SPLUNK Server administration, Dell Server, and SAN Storage hardware experience.
  • Experience with Docker, Microsoft SQL, Oracle databases, Angular, JavaScript including Ember.js, Spring Boot, Spring, in addition to a focus on cloud skillsets, specifically AWS solution architecture.
  • Maintaining the Apache Hadoop Ecosystem, especially utilizing HBase, MapReduce, and Spark.
  • ETL processes utilizing Linux shell scripting, Perl, Python, and Apache Airflow.
  • AWS services such as CloudWatch, CloudTrail, ELB, EMR, KMS, SQS, SNS, and Systems Manager.
  • Experience in supporting, maintaining, and migrating JavaFX applications to modern cloud-native

The annual salary range for this position is $144,400.00-$216,600.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
