What You Will Do:
We are currently searching for a Clinical Neuropsychologist. This position will independently provide support services to satisfy the overall operational objectives of the National Institute of Mental Health. The primary objective is to provide services and deliverables through performance of support services. This is a full-time opportunity in Rockville, MD.  

  • Develop new protocol-specific tests related to protocol(s) under study in consultation with Government staff. Customized testing may include computerized batteries de-signed to address specific patient abilities, such as reaction time testing, smell testing, or speech measures. The Contractor will utilize knowledge of a broad range of neuro-psychological testing and current literature to advise Government staff on appropriate testing options for achieving the protocol goals.

  • Work with other personnel on research activities, including organizing and maintaining participant information and neuropsychological test data in spreadsheets and databases; performing preliminary analyses on data using statistical analysis software; and assisting in collation of research results for publication according to the timeline requested by the Government staff.

  • Provide expert consultation regarding study design and analysis and use of psychological instruments.

  • Provide in-person neuropsychological evaluations for clinical and research protocols in the NIH Clinical Center, Bethesda, MD in support of the NIH intramural research program, under the direction of clinical neuropsychologists, and as guided by existing policies, procedures, and other guidance.

  • Conduct interviews (of research subjects and family informants), administer and score tests accurately (and/or oversee the testing conducted by students and other personnel), interpret neuropsychological data, and/or communicate findings/conclusions orally and in writing.

  • Testing includes standardized and well-validated tests of neuropsychological domains, including but not limited to attention, language, learning/memory, visuospatial abilities, executive functioning, personality, and mood.

  • Document reports in the patient’s electronic medical record. Reports shall be timely and include documentation of history of presenting illness, neuropsychological and psychological tests administered, quantitative test data for individual patients, individual performance on the tests as compared with normative data, and interpretation of the data based on best practices in the neuropsychology field.

What You Will Need:

  • PhD Degree

  • American Board of Clinical Psychology (ABCP) License

  • A minimum of THREE (3) years of clinical psychology experience.

  • Experience in Clinical trial management

  • Previous work with special populations (children, adolescents, adult, elderly)

  • Experience in Family intervention, clinical assessments, and making recommendations for appropriate referrals.

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy experience

  • Interpersonal therapy (IPT) experience

What Would Be Nice To Have:

  • Previous experience with working with National Institute of Health (NIH) preferred.
