An Accounting Clerk is responsible for the financial processing of transactions for an organization. A successful Accounting Clerk will have a mix of organizational and analytical skills. They should be able to work out numbers, generate reports and find discrepancies as well as cost-saving opportunities.

Essential Job Responsibilities

• Enter Customer and Vendor information in our Accounting software,
• Support Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions:
• Enter transactions in system,
• Call customers or vendors with specific questions,
• Enter credit card payments,
• Print customer invoices from our software,
• Open and distribute mail
• Download and retain some weekly reports from software,
• Other general administrative functions as needed.

Requirements:

Additional Requirements

• Education: Associate degree in Accounting, Finance or related field or equivalent work experience required.
• Experience: 1-3 years of previous accounts payable, accounts receivable, or closely related experience.
• Computer Skills: Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite; previous Quick Books, and Document Management System experience strongly preferred.

Other Requirements: Knowledge of: Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to: work quickly, efficiently, and independently; multi-task; be detail oriented and organized; follow-through; meet deadlines in a pressured situation; communicate effectively with other employees and develop good working relationships; adapt to change; operate a computer, copier, fax machine; problem solve; read and write; perform basic math functions (e.g., addition, subtraction).
