The Director of Long Term Care (D/LTC) reports to Marla Bunker, Chief Operating Officer/CNO of WMH. He/she is responsible for all day-to-day operations of the 52 bed Long Term Care Department. Along with the Long Term Care Administrator, he/she is responsible for the development and implementation of policies, procedures, budgeting, quality reviews and continuing customer service improvement. The Director is responsible for all human resource and financial services of the LTC unit and integrating standards of professional nursing practice into the LTC facility.

The D/LTC serves as a leader and clinical resource in promoting and interpreting the philosophy, goals and objectives of nursing administration. The D/LTC will effectively utilize all aspects of the nursing process to manage the care of residents. He/she assists with planning and implementing clinical resident care and identifying clinical resources necessary to maintain high standards of care. He/she wull maintain proper staffing levels based on established staffing guidelines. The Director will also lead and be actively involved in the hospital’s Nurse Aide education program in order to supply the LTC unit with certified nursing assistants.

*Qualifications*

· A Registered Nurse currently or able to be licensed in the State of Michigan.

· A Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing is required.

· A minimum of 3 years experience in a long term care facility within the last five years.

· Progressive management/supervisory experience is preferred.

· Membership in a professional organization and national certification or credentialing in area of specialty is recommended.

· Knowledge of CMS regulations, state rules, DNV/NIHOA standards, quality indicators and quality measures related to Long Term Care preferred.

· Working knowledge of the RAI process preferred. Ability and willingness to travel overnight to attend required educational opportunities.

· Willingness and ability to gain proficiency in facility information system and unit specific software programs.

· Formal higher education teaching experience is preferred
